Ivy Moya, a graduate of UC Berkeley, transitioned into the apparel industry after stints in media, advertising and computer software. An avid home sewer since she was 4 years old, it was the desire to work with fabric that steered her in that direction. After graduating from FIDM's San Francisco campus and winning the Cyril Magnin Award for Product Development/Merchandise Marketing, she re-located to Los Angeles, and got a job working as a fabric buying assistant for a Los Angeles-based medical uniform company. Within two years, she was buying $16 million dollars of fabric per year. Upon returning to the Bay Area in 2005, she worked for a major home textiles and bedding manufacturer before transitioning into selling apparel fabric in 2009.
Ivy is owner of Ivy Moya Fine Fabrics and has a showroom in downtown Oakland.
